The tubular cut with bevelled ends is inspired by the quill of an old writing pen. Delicious. I’d recently read that the ribbed penne holds more flavour than the flat type, so am now a rigate convert. Great to use for most pasta dishes, with the added bonus of keeping some aside for quick, easy kids stir thru pasta sauce dinners
