Reminded me of the hospital packet potato mix where you just add water. Only this version has additional flavors added.

Agree with other comments – this recipe base doesn’t add much, and doesn’t taste as good as fresh ingredients.

If you are cooking the potatoes anyway (not instant mash) it is not that much effort to add fresh sour cream and or chives.
