We don’t tend to purchase or use prepared frosting with our baking. We also prefer lighter toppings like a sprinkling of icing sugar compared to a thicker layer of frosting.
The instructions state that this frosting can be used two different ways. Initially if you stir the contents at room temperature you can spread this frosting onto anything you like.
Or you can microwave the container and allow the melted frosting drip over your bakery item for a drizzle finish.
I tried this frosting out on two different items.
First I spread some on some mini pikelets and then I spread some on some chocolate cookies that I baked as they needed a bit more of a sweet touch.
On its own the frosting had a sweet taste but it wasn’t entirely to my liking. It did complement the pikelets and cookies but I’m not a big fan of the flavour.
When spread straight from the container it has a smooth consistency yet it still retains its shape. I imagine once heated you wouldn’t be able to spread it and it would be very runny.
