Iconic Australian spread, VEGEMITE is going to print!
Yes, you read that right. The mitey spread is making its way into children’s books as a dog character in a newly created book series called ‘Happy Little Vegemites’.
The children’s series was created in collaboration with parent company, Bega Cheese Limited and, multi-national publishing company, New Holland Publishers (NHP). The story follows the adventures of a dog named VEGEMITE together with his best friends; Fred, Rosie and other “Happy Little VEGEMITES” on a series of Australian adventures.
The publishing house describes the character Vegemite as a direct reflection of the brand, describing it as “a bit of a joker who is always ready to play or help out a mate”
The Vegemite and NHP team seeks to use the book series as a tool to help boost hunger for learning and literacy across Australia.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with New Holland Publishers to release a range of Vegemite children’s books,” said Jacqui Roth, marketing manager at Vegemite. “We hope that kids all over Australia love following the mitey adventures of Vegemite the dog and friends.”
The series begins with “Learn with VEGEMITE” board books for ages 3+, “VEGEMITE goes to the
zoo” and “VEGEMITE meets Santa” picture books for ages 6+.
There is also a VEGEMITE songbook with lyrics and sheet music for kids to sing along to the “Happy Little VEGEMITEs” jingle. More titles are in the works to continue the journey for Vegemite the dog and his best mates.
